What is the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)?

NCBTMB is an independent, private, nonprofit organization established to set and maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice in the field of therapeutic massage and bodywork through a recognized credentialing program. NCBTMB certifies massage therapists and bodyworkers on behalf of the profession, and for the benefit of consumers, employers and practitioners. Currently, there are nearly 80,000 nationally certified practitioners, and NCBTMB examinations are used and/or recognized in statute or rule by 38 states, plus the District of Columbia.
